چکیده

119 Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate plaque formation on natural tooth surfaces by a replica technique, which offers investigation of oral hard tissue surfaces by scanning electron microscopy. This method is recommended in cases where direct investigation is impossible such as when nonextracted teeth are investigated or when extracted teeth are expected to be influenced by the dehydration and drying process. The representative photographs demonstrate the accumulation of plaque in two days.

Study of Nanofibrils Formation of Fibroin Protein in Specific Thermal and Acidity Conditions

Background: Amyloid fibrils are insoluble arranged aggregates of proteins that are fibrillar in structure and related to many diseases (at least 20 types of illnesses) and also create many pathologic conditions. Therefore understanding the circumstance of fibril formation is very important. Objectives: This study aims to work on fibrillar structure formation of fibroin (as a model protein)...

Brassica oleraceae, a versatile plant for green synthesis of silver nanoparticles

In the present paper, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized using the Brassica oleraceae fruit extract under the simple and eco-friendly conditions. The reaction between silver nitrate, as metal source, and aqueous extract of Brassica oleraceae fruit, as reductant agent, produced AgNPs in high yield. The formation of AgNPs was confirmed by means of UV-Vis spectroscopy and scanning elect...

Morphological and histochemical investigation of the camel (Camelus dromedarius) abomasal mucous membrane by light and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)

Morphological and histochemical study of the abomasal epithelium in camel (Camelus dromedarius) wascarried out by light and scanning electron microscopes. The lining of the abomasum was divided into fourregions, i.e. cardiac, pseudocardiac, fundic and pyloric. Our investigation revealed that the cardiac andpseudocardiac regions occupy a wide part of the abomasum in camel and it reaches approxim...

Scanning Electron Microscopy of Dental

Dental calculus, a type of stone formed even under normal conditions, plays an important role in some periodontal diseases. Deposition of dental calculus follows plaque formation, and the variations in the degree of calcification reflect the changes in environment and form of its lamellar structure[1]. Dental plaque is composed of rods, cocci and filamentous bacteria[2], and these morphological...
